Update: 10:45am

Dear Parents

This update focuses on parents who are essential workers.

Due to the sudden government mandated lockdown starting at 5 pm today (29/03) our school term now finishes this afternoon.

However, Outside School Hours Care will be available for children of essential workers over the next three days.

Please only register if you have to leave home to conduct essential work e.g. in a hospital.

Limited supervision will be available and if at all possible, we would encourage you to find alternate supervision for your children.

If not, please complete this form as soon as possible, at the latest by 3 pm today.

Please fill out the form below for each child (i.e 3 children, 3 form responses).

Communication updates for all families will be sent through email (Parent Lounge) App, website news section and Northside Christian College Facebook page.

Update: 9:44am

Good morning again,

As you would appreciate, the 3 day lockdown announced by the Queensland Premier this morning, has meant major changes to this last week of school.

As advised by Queensland Health. “The lockdown means schools will close, except to vulnerable children, or the children of essential workers, and face masks will be mandatory…..”

We will have a further update at 10:30am this morning, however here is the most up-to-date information for all College families.

  • Students who were about to go on camp this week are back in their class rooms (there has been a Government directive that we are not to travel outside of the Brisbane area). These students who were heading to camp in Years 8, 9 and 10 can be signed out at the Middle and Senior School receptions at any time today. Students who cannot be picked up will be supervised.
  • Year 12 camp will not be proceeding tomorrow.
  • For other students, normal classes will continue today, with normal pickup at the end of the day.
  • The Easter break for students will begin early for all students at the end of school today.
  • Our 10:30am update will include details for parents who are essential workers and how to register for supervision by our Out of Hours School Care (OHSC).
  • Any assessment due over the next three days will be re-scheduled after the Easter break.
  • The Year 10 girls returning from the camp at Mt Barney today will return as per schedule this afternoon.

Kind regards
