As part of our Year 8 Lifeskills Program, students are currently exploring the concept of leadership. The topics being covered are community, leadership characteristics, servant-hearted leadership and teamwork. The core focus is that all students have a role to play in leadership, regardless of their position. To further enhance the program, the Year 8 cohort are going on their leadership excursion to Treetops Challenge at Tamborine Mountain in Week 10.

These lessons and experience lead into our Middle School leadership selection process, which occurs within the first few weeks of Term 4. The process provides an opportunity for each student to individually nominate themselves for a position within the MS Leadership Team. Throughout the process, students vote several times to elect the members of the leadership team and Middle School Captains. Their votes plus teacher input are then used to determine the size and composition of the Leadership Team. This composition is then approved by the College Principal and Head of Middle School.
