Metropolitan North Track and Field Championships

Ten students from Junior School headed to Metropolitan North Championships on 22 and 23 August. With athletes represented across all track and field events, there were some great performances with many personal bests. 

Special congratulations to Ebony Okonkwo, who won Gold in High Jump and the 100m event and Bronze in the 200m. Joanna Hobson also took home a Bronze medallion for Discus. Both Ebony and Joanna will compete at the Qld State Track and Field Championships in October. Well done girls! 

 

CSSA-Q Track and Field

On Monday 28 August, 51 students from Yr 3 – 7 headed to the Queensland State Athletics Centre to compete at the CSSA-Q Track and Field Carnival. 

The level of competition was very high and Northside performed extremely well, finishing 3rd on Overall Points and 2nd on Percentage Points. 

Congratulations to all students who competed and special congratulations to the following Age Champion winners.

Junior School Swimming Program

During Term Four, the Junior School swimming program (Year 1-6) will be held at the Segley Park Olympic Swimming Pool, Newmarket. Lessons will be conducted on Tuesdays, commencing Week One of Term Four and concluding in Week Eight. 

Due to the Upper Junior School Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 14 November, there will be no lessons for Yr 3 – 6 students on this day. There is no additional fee for the swimming program as it has been incorporated into the sports levy.
